3-Part Future Planning Webinar Training Series for Professionals

Experience shows that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) make better transitions from the family home when a person-centered future plan is in place. But what is a future plan? The concept of future planning and what it entails is still not widely understood by many families and human services professionals. Join The Arc Wisconsin, in partnership with The Arc’s Center for Future Planning, for a three-part, live, online training series for professionals on supporting families to future plan.

This training series is designed for professionals who support families to future plan and is not open to family members at this time.

Part 1: Future Planning 101
Tuesday, October 11, 2022 (12:00 - 1:15 pm CT)
We will review the basics of future planning.

Part 2: Build Your Plan Facilitation Tools
Thursday, October 20, 2022 (12:00 - 1:15 pm CT)
We will cover how to build a plan and future planning materials that can be used when assisting families.

Part 3: State Resources
Tuesday, October 25, 2022 (12:00 -1:15 pm CT)
We will review state funding resources to assist with meeting the needs of people with IDD.

Registered participants who attend all three training sessions will receive a certificate of completion and will be added to our future planning resource directory: (https://futureplanning.thearc.org/professionals/landing)

Presenters:
Liz Mahar is the Director of Family and Sibling Initiatives at The Arc of the United States, and she is a leader within The Arc's Center for Future Planning.

Deb Sybell is the State Director of The Arc Wisconsin. She has a diverse background in policymaking, government relations, and regulatory affairs.
